The Asian Conference for Lactic Acid Bacteria (ACLAB) is a biannual event which is one of the activities facilitated by the Asian Federation of Societies for Lactic Acid Bacteria (AFSLAB). Each of the member countries of AFSLAB takes turn to host this event. In 2015, Thailand is honoured to host the 8th ACLAB which will be held on 8th - 10th July 2015 at the Emerald Hotel, Bangkok. This conference is organised by a group of Thai scientists who are working in the field of lactic acid bacteria and the Department of Biotechnology of the Faculty of Agro-Industry, Kasetsart University.

It is a great honour for Thailand to host the 8th ACLAB which will be held on 8th - 10th July 2015 at the Emerald Hotel, Bangkok. This year’s theme, “Health, Sustainability, Friendly Environment and Application”, focuses on an important aspect of lactic acid bacteria on the health of both human and animals. Famous scientists in this area from around the globe have agreed to be present at this conference as keynote and invited speakers.

It is my great pleasure to welcome you on behalf of the Asian Federation for Lactic Acid Bacteria (AFSLAB) and to invite you to attend the next International Conference at the 8th Asian Conference on Lactic Acid Bacteria (ACLAB8) which will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, on July 8-10, 2015. The Conference will be held in the joint meeting with the Symposium of Prebiotics and Probiotics, Health Benefits and Application. There will be also a special dedicated lecture session arranged by the International Scientific Association for Probiotics and Prebiotics (ISAPP). AFSLAB is the Federation consists of the Association of Lactic Acid Bacteria from 13 counties in Asian area including Thailand. The Conference has been held in every second year until now. The last Conference has been held in India, 2013.
